Detailed description

The Sansthan organised a Tobacco Control Programme under the School Programme of the Uttar Pradesh State Tobacco Control Cell, Directorate General of Medical and Health Services. Chief Medical Officer Dr. R. K. Tiwari described how tobacco spreads harm through the body. Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajendra Prasad spoke of cancer, paralysis, brain haemorrhage, tuberculosis, and other illnesses linked to tobacco. Principal Shri Ram Indra Chakravarti called for continuous campaigning. Shri Mahesh Chaurasia thanked the gathering and honoured Dr. Tiwari with a memento. The programme treats tobacco not as a private habit but as a public-health emergency that schools are well placed to confront.
