Sitapur artisans receive handicraft identity cards

Hindi newspaper coverage recorded the Sansthan’s handicraft artisan survey and registration work in Sitapur, including the distribution of artisan cards.

7 February 2024

Local press in Uttar Pradesh reported the organisation’s drive to identify traditional handicraft artisans, collect their details on prescribed forms, and register them for artisan cards.

The work covered villages and blocks including Sandila, Machhrehta, Babupur, and neighbouring settlements. Women and men engaged in woodwork and other crafts participated.

Coverage dated 7 February 2024 in Badh Awaaz (बाढ़ आवाज़) described the Sitapur programme and the gathering of artisans for registration. The report sits alongside the Sansthan’s own record of the Handicraft Artisans Survey and Registration Programme.

Registration is intended to help artisans seek training, schemes, and institutional recognition for skills that are often inherited but rarely documented.
